Quick Start
20 Minutes · Three Docs · Enough for Tonight
Start Here
You don't have to print the whole binder tonight. Print these three docs, grab a binder and a pen, and you've got enough to run the system for the first week. Everything else can wait until the weekend.
◆  Print These First  ·  In This Order
01
Journal Companion
The 3-page Commander's map of the whole system — 6-doc loop, weekly rhythm, 5 non-negotiables, pocket-sheet. Print double-sided.
— So you know what's going on before you hand your kid anything.
02
Daily Intel Debrief
The nightly 5-minute worksheet. Print 14 copies (two weeks' worth), single-sided. You'll reprint as you go.
— Night 1 needs this on the table. This IS the ritual.
03
Debrief Card
Your 2-sided Commander card for the nightly ritual — the fade-out schedule and the 5 prompts. Print double-sided, keep it in the front pocket.
— So you know what to say when you sit down Night 1.
◆  Supplies  ·  What You Need in Hand
Must-Have
  • 1-inch binder with a front pocket
  • 3-hole punch (or pre-punched paper)
  • Black pen — your kid picks the color
  • A printer with color ink (B&W is OK for text pages)
Nice-to-Have (Later)
  • Tab dividers (6) for the full binder
  • Scissors — for the cut-and-fold Pocket Sheets
  • A second binder if you're running two kids
  • Sticky notes for landmarks
◆  Where Things Go  ·  Day 1 Setup
In the Front Pocket (You)
  • Journal Companion (3 pages)
  • Debrief Card
  • This guide, folded in half
In the Binder (Your Kid)
  • The 14 Debrief pages — loose, hole-punched
  • Anything else you print, added as you go
◆  Rest Can Wait  ·  Same Rule Applies to You You don't owe anyone a complete binder Night 1. Start with the three. Add the Codex, the Vault, and the Award Editor this weekend. Tune-Up Log when the brain gets loud. Binder grows as the system earns its place in your house.
◆  The Snap-Shut Moment  ◆
The first time you snap the binder shut · that's the system starting.

Print When You Have Time · Section by Section
The Whole Build
When you're ready, here's the whole binder — six tabbed sections plus the front pocket. Don't print all at once. Print a section, run it for a week, print the next.
◆  The Six Tabs  ·  One Per Doc in the Loop
Tab 1 · Codex
XP Mission Codex — the master list of missions + XP values + reward ladder. Print once. Update quarterly.
Tab 2 · Manifest
Weekly Combat Manifest — print 4-5 copies. One per week.
Tab 3 · Debrief
Daily Intel Debrief — print 14 at a time, reprint as needed.
Tab 4 · Vault
The XP Vault — print 4 copies. One per week. Co-sign Fridays.
Tab 5 · Award
Award Editor — print blank copies to fill for ceremony moments. 5-10 to start.
Tab 6 · Tune-Up
Engine Tune-Up Log — print 2-3. Keep at the back. Only comes out when brain gets loud.
◆  Front Pocket  ·  Your Commander Cards
Commander Cards — Print Double-Sided
  • Journal Companion (3 pages)
  • Debrief Card (2 sides)
  • Command Companion (Tune-Up teacher)
  • System Check (monthly review)
Your Kid Never Reads These
  • These are coaching cards for you
  • Keep them out of the tabbed sections
  • The banner says COMMANDER EYES ONLY for a reason
  • Fold the Pocket Sheet in half for wallet carry
◆  Cut & Fold Items  ·  Scissors Required
✂  Journal Companion · Page 3 (Pocket Sheet) Two wallet-sized Commander Quick-Ref cards on one Letter sheet. Cut vertically on the dashed line. Left card = 6-Doc Loop map. Right card = 3-week handoff timeline + emergency refs. Keep one in your wallet, one on the fridge.
◆  Two Kids  ·  One Binder or Two? Start with one kid, one binder. Pick one kid first — your call. When the rhythm is running clean for ~3 weeks, print a second binder for the other kid. Running both Day 1 is the #1 way this fails.
◆  Print Settings Quick-Ref  ·  Check Before You Hit Print
Margins
Chrome / Edge: "Default". Safari: "Auto". Don't pick "Custom" with a number under 0.5 inch.
Backgrounds
Print backgrounds: ON. Banner colors and brand bars are backgrounds — otherwise pages look blank on top.
Double-Sided
Long-edge flip for Companion cards and Debrief Card. Single-sided for worksheets (Debrief, Vault, Manifest).
Color
Color for Companion cards + Awards. B&W is fine for Debrief / Manifest / Codex / Vault worksheets.
Paper
Standard 20lb letter. Cardstock for the Debrief Card if you want it to survive the nightstand.
◆  The Whole Point  ◆
Your binder grows with the system · Not the other way around.
